This is not a new xLog account; it is a reincarnated account of AcoFork (because the private key mnemonic of the original account was lost TAT#
- This account will continue to update new content in the future. If I think certain blog posts are very important or need major revisions, I will publish them on this account, but I will absolutely not copy existing blog posts from the original account.
What is a private key mnemonic?#
- xLog uses a wallet account for login, and when you create a wallet account, it will display the private key mnemonic.
- It is equivalent to a traditional account + password, but it cannot be changed, cannot be recovered; once lost, you will permanently lose access to the account.
How should I properly save my private key mnemonic?#
- The best way is to memorize it; no one knows what is in your head (I can't do it).
- Or try writing it down and keeping it in a secret corner, and remember to regularly check and maintain it (including paper aging, security of the location, etc.).
- It is best to not store it on the internet; regardless of whether your hosting provider uses end-to-end encryption, it is unsafe (but I have it in Xiaomi Cloud Album).
- Please ensure that the location you store it is secret and does not undergo frequent destructive changes (for example, if you store it on your computer's C drive and then forget to reinstall the system one day, it is very likely that it cannot be recovered).
- But also do not overly keep it secret; sometimes, encryption often defends against oneself rather than hackers who want to steal your private key mnemonic.
Where should I check my private key mnemonic?#
- I use MetaMask to manage my wallet.
- Go to the settings page, find the security related options, look for words like show mnemonic and click.
Finally#
- If you want to properly manage an xLog account, please keep your private key mnemonic safe. In Web3, only that seemingly meaningless chain of words can mark your identity; once lost, it will be like me (laughs).
